National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)
Founded in 1837, the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the oldest technical university in Greece. It comprises eight Engineering Schools — Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Computer, Architecture, Chemical, Rural Surveying & Geoinformatics, Mining & Metallurgical, and Naval Architecture & Marine — along with a ninth School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences. NTUA has 512 academic staff members and 23,914 students.
The Parallel CFD & Optimisation (PCOpt) Unit of the School of Mechanical Engineering is participating in this experiment. PCOpt’s research focuses on the development of CFD-based analysis and optimisation methods — both stochastic and deterministic, with an emphasis on Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) and adjoint methods — as well as related software, including the application of AI and Machine Learning.
