National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)
Founded in 1837, NTUA is the oldest technical university in Greece. It consists of eight engineering schools (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Computer, Architecture, Chemical, Rural Surveying & Geoinformatics, Mining & Metallurgical, Naval Architecture & Marine) and a ninth school of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences, with 512 professors and 23,914 students. The Parallel CFD & Optimisation (PCOpt) Unit of the School of Mechanical Engineering is involved in this experiment. PCOpt's research activities are related to the development of CFD-based analysis and optimisation methods (both stochastic and deterministic, with an emphasis on evolutionary algorithms and adjoint methods) and software, including the use of AI/ML.
