BankGPT is the Specialized LLM for Finance and Banking in Europe

Short description of the innovation study

The banking and financial sector in Europe faces a challenge: the need for AI solutions that are customisable, compliant with regulations, and under their direct control. Traditional large-scale AI models often fail to meet these sector-specific requirements, raising concerns about data privacy, vendor lock-in, and cost-effectiveness.

FairMind aims to address this challenge by developing BankGPT, a specialised open-source LLM for Banking and Finance integrated into MindStream. This will be achieved by leveraging a specialised foundation LLM and fine-tuning it using European HPC resources. The model will be integrated into FairMind's MindStream platform, offering customisation, intelligent workflow automation, advanced privacy protection, multilingual support, and ethical AI safeguards.

The expected business impact includes enhanced compliance and risk management, improved operational efficiency, competitive advantage, and data sovereignty. FairMind's exploitation plan involves deploying solutions with early adopters in specific countries, expanding the customer base, and scaling to serve the broader European market.
