FFplus project gained great visibility at the Sling Days Conference
Last week, the three-day SLING Days - Mreža znanja conference took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, bringing together over 700 HPC professionals, including engineers, researchers, industry experts, IT providers, public administration representatives, and enthusiasts.
Our partners from Arctur and Cineca introduced the FFplus project on the Industry Day programme and in the workshop to other National Competence Centers. In the workshop, Claudio Arlandini from CINECA highlighted the experience of collaboration and experiment support from CINECA, as an EuroCC Italy partner. Project materials and success story materials were also provided in the exhibition area, where partners introduced some stories, and encouraged visitors to follow the information about the second open call.
Additionally, Sašo Knez from AFormX Aviation Technology, a Slovenian aviation company, presented their FF4EuroHPC success story, which under the project auspieces, developed a new solution focused on enabling green aviation start-ups to achieve better conceptual structural design.
Another Slovenian company, Culmium d.o.o., highlighted the use of HPC applications in their furnace-building business and shared their experience in preparing a proposal for the first FFplus Business Experiments Open Call.
Throughout the three-day event, the Fortissimo-FFplus projects was mentioned multiple times in various contexts, underscoring its importance not only for the business sector—its primary target—but also for raising awareness among strategists and decision-makers. The project demonstrates how R&D initiatives with cascade funding for SMEs can drive European economic growth and innovation, fostering meaningful collaboration between businesses and research institutions to deliver impactful results.
